When Was Welding Invented?

Understanding the history of various types of processes can be immensely useful for you once all has been said and is now out of the way. The reason behind this is that it can help mold your world view and help you figure out where humanity came from and why we do the countless things that we do each and every day without really even thinking about their origins even though said origins are a crucial aspect of the advent of the aforementioned practices.

If you look at welding culture, for example, people often think that it is a modern invention. However, welding is something that has been happening for thousands of years. There are some examples of Ancient Egyptians having taken part in welding as well, and they probably did so in the year 3,000 BCE which is around 5,000 years prior to the current point on the timeline that we are all existing on. That said if you want to talk about modern welding, you are basically asking about carbon arc welding which is a highly modern way to get something of this nature done.

Carbon arc welding was invented in 1881 by Nikolay Benardos. He was a Russian specialist who wanted to find a way to fuse metals together whilst bolstering their structural integrity. Prior to his invention welding would pretty much always make a structure weaker than might have been the case otherwise, but he managed to create a brand new tool that would make the welded items so strong that you would need an immense amount of strength in order to tear them apart from one another which helped make industrialization possible for the Russian nation.
